Ruggedised data terminal

The "ruggedised data terminal" is a portable character based data terminal, designed for data logging and general control applications in extreme and hostile environments.

These terminals are currently in use in various applications, including river water quality monitoring.

The following table lists the standard specification for these units, but they can also be customised to meet specific customer/user application requirements

  • Case: The case is virtually unbreakable, watertight, dustproof, chemical resistant, and when closed is sealed to IP67.
  • Dimensions: 27 x 24.6 x 12.3mm.
  • Weight: 2.2kg
  • Display: Backlit display as standard. Display area is 125 x 85mm. The standard display shows 26 rows x 80 characters. Other display configurations, such as 20 rows x 60 characters are available to special order
  • Keyboard: 55 key qwerty keyboard with tactile feel.
  • Power: Powered by 4 C size alkaline cells. The unit may alternatively be powered by an external 9-12V DC supply, for instance from a vehicle cigar lighter socket.
  • Interface: RS232 (V24) as standard. Other interfaces to special order
