Traffic Statistics & Bandwidth Use -
Monitor traffic and bandwidth details in graphs and numbers.
As a network analyzer,. packet sniffer & protocol analyzer, Capsa make it easy to monitor and analyse network traffic, with it's intuitive and information-rich tab views. With Capsa's network traffic monitor feature, you can quickly identify network bottlenecks and detect network abnormalities.
Monitor network traffic in "Summary" tab
"Summary" view provides general information of the entire network or on the selected node in the "Explorer". In this mode you can get a quick view of the total traffic, real-time traffic, broadcast traffic, multicast traffic, etc.
When switching among nodes in the explorer, corresponding traffic information is provided.

Advanced Protocol Analysis
Identify and analyze 300+ network protocols.
What Are Network Protocols?
A protocol is the "convention" or "standard" that controls or enables the connection, communication, and data transfer between two computing endpoints. In its simplest form, a protocol can be defined as the rules governing the syntax, semantics, and synchronization of communication. Protocols may be implemented by hardware, software, or a combination of the two. At the lowest level, a protocol defines the behavior of a hardware connection.
Why Protocol Analyzing Important?
Since all network communications are based on protocols and different protocols indicates varieties of network behaviors, by analyzing protocols using a protocol analyzer, we get to know what network applications are used on the network and what network behavior is taken against your network. You may check out our protocols database to get an explanation of each protocol.
Analyze Protocols with Capsa
Being able to support more than 300 protocols in the latest version, Capsa make it easy to analyze protocols in the network and to understand what is happening.
Comprehensive Protocols Information in "Protocols" Tab
In Protocols tab, all protocols detected are listed with detailed traffic (both total and real-time) and connections information. With its easy sorting feature, we can understand which protocol has generated the largest traffic and built most connections. |
Map out Each Host (EndPoint) in the Network
Lists all hosts in the network with details of traffic, IP, MAC, etc..
What is an Endpoint?
The two ends of network "Endpoints", can be a local host or a remote host.
Capsa is able to detect all endpoints in network communications and provide detailed information of each endpoint.
Endpoint List
In Capsa's "Endpoints" view, all endpoints detected will be listed with their respective statistics and general information such as aggregated traffic and real-time traffic.
We can group endpoints in hierarchical order or by MAC and IP addresses.
For remote endpoints we can easily find its geographic address in the GEO column.
With its easy sorting feature we can easily sort all endpoints by different attributes. |
Visualize all Connections in Matrix
Visualizes the entire network in an ellipse, showing connections and traffic.
Matrix
"Matrix" is a view that visualizes all network connections and traffic details in one single graph. The nodes around an elongated ellipse display the hosts in your network; the weight of the line between the nodes indicates the traffic, and the color indicates the communication status. By clicking on a single node, you can view its detailed traffic information. |
HTTP, IM, Email, FTP and DNS Logs Analysis
The logs in Colasoft Capsa can record global or scope-specific network events,
containing four types of log primarily generated by the advanced analyzers:
HTTP requests,
email messages,
FTP transfers,
DNS analysis
and four instant messenger activities:
MSN activity,
AIM activity,
ICQ activities,
Yahoo Messenger Activities. |
