Installing and Using the E1 / G.703 / PRI / T1 Interface

E1/G.703/PRI/ T1 Interface

Run SETUP.EXE from the Mocha_E1 directory on the Installation CD.
This will install the MOCHA_E1.EXE applet and the P100.DLL in directory Program Files\WildPackets\OmniPeek\

Connect the RS.232 9 Pin Control Port at the rear of the E1 Unit (marked RS.232 Control) to a suitable COM port on the Notebook PC, using the 9 pin serial cable. This allows the MOCHA_E1 applet to communicate with the E1 Interface unit.

Connect the 15 Pin Monitor Port at the rear of the E1 Unit (marked MONITOR) to the PCMCIA stub cable adapter (supplied). Connect the stub end to the PCMCIA card.
This is the E1 MONITOR Port which passes data to OmniPeek via the Mocha PC Card Adapter.

Intercepting the link

Take the RJ45 lead from the E1 end point, and insert in either of the RJ45 connectors on the front panel of the E1 unit.
Insert the supplied RJ45 lead between the other E1 unit RJ45 connector and the E1 end point.

Using the E1 / G.703 / T1 Interface Applet

Run the Mocha E1 Control Applet, Mocha_E1.exe from the directory Program Files\WildPackets\OmniPeek

The Mocha_E1 control applet needs to communicate with the E1 unit via a COM port. If the unit is not connected, select a new COM port from the Port Setting.

When the unit is connected (Green Light ON) you will be able to select E1Channel/s for monitoring. Select the E1/G703 or T1 Tab

Click the 'Enable' button

Select the new E1 Channel requirement
or User Select to select your own Channel Group.

Press 'Confirm' to select the channels

The E1 interface will now present the selected channels to OmniPeek via the Mocha Card.
